Take what stillness taught you, into motion.

If you already have a meditation practice, you've spent real time cultivating the skills of listening and allowing — noticing what's present without immediately trying to change it. Breathwork asks for exactly those same skills. The difference is where you're asked to apply them.

Meditation typically asks you to practice allowing in stillness. Breathwork takes that same listening and brings it into the whole body — allowing energy to move and express itself, not just observing it from a seat. That means giving up a certain kind of control: sometimes staying still when your body wants to move is its own form of forcing, and it can end up reinforcing the very tension that's asking to be released. Bringing what you've honed in stillness into movement is often where a practice goes next.

I found this out the hard way. I began with meditation alone, and after some time my body started shaking — sometimes for hours at a stretch. It would leave me exhausted, and I had no idea what to do with it. It was only once I picked up breathwork that I learned how to channel that movement into unwinding motions that actually released the stuck energy underneath, instead of just letting it run on its own. That's when I really started to flow.

The eight-week course is built to make that same shift for you — one skill at a time, moving down through the body, so the allowing you already practice on the cushion becomes something you can access anywhere: in your voice, your posture, the way you meet a hard feeling as it moves through you.

Skills you'll build across the eight weeks:

Felt sense & body awareness Titration & pendulation Conscious connected breathing Vocal expression & toning Shaking & discharge Unwinding Emotional expression Boundaries & healthy power Grounding
Course launching this fall

I'm running the Breathwork for Meditators course online this October & November.

It goes deeper into everything above — a structured path for bringing what you've built in stillness into motion. Exact dates and times aren't set yet, so signing up simply lets me know you're interested and helps me find a schedule that works for the group. Spots will be limited once the course is confirmed.

The full arc

See what you'll learn, week by week

Each week builds on the last, moving down through the body — click into any week for a closer look at what's covered.

Week 1 Resourcing and Pendulation

We start by building the foundation everything else rests on: a felt sense of safety in the body, and the core skills of titration and pendulation — moving in small, manageable pieces between activation and rest, rather than diving in all at once. You'll get your first gentle taste of conscious connected breathing, and we'll set the group agreements that hold the container for the weeks ahead.

Week 2 The Face You Show the World

The eyes and face are often the most accessible place to begin releasing — and the most expressive. Using slow eye movements (similar to EMDR) to practice titration, and letting emotion move through the face without forcing any particular shape, this week teaches you to notice where expression gets stuck, and how letting it complete can free the energy underneath.

Week 3 Finding Your Voice

Sound is one of the most direct paths to release, and also one of the most guarded. Through a chakra-toning meditation, playful volume-building exercises, and gibberish — expressing through nonsense sounds instead of words — you'll find your way back to a voice that doesn't need to make sense to be true.

Week 4 Power & Vulnerability

The chest and arms hold both our longing to reach out and our need to protect ourselves. This week works with reaching, pushing, and setting boundaries — plus a full-body emotional expression exercise — to explore what's easy to feel and what's harder, and how healthy power and vulnerability can coexist.

Week 5 Shaking It Loose

Animals discharge stress through shaking; humans usually override it. This week reintroduces that natural capacity — starting small, in the hands and arms, and letting it spread only as far as feels resourced — followed by dancing, a lighter way to keep the energy moving and enjoy movement for its own sake.

Week 6 Learning to Unwind

Not every release needs a plan. This week introduces unwinding — letting the body move through its own impulses rather than a chosen shape — deepened by tension-and-release work with the belly and low back, where so much of what we carry ends up stored.

Week 7 Unlocking Your Root

The pelvis is often the most guarded place in the body, so this session moves slowly and spaciously. Grounding practices, gentle activation techniques drawn from TRE, and full-body unwinding help release what's held in the hips and legs — the root, quite literally, of how we stand in the world.

Week 8 · Extended session Always Be Releasing

The course closes with its longest session — not with another guided breath round, but with a meditation into spaciousness and a chance to feel how your body's energy already wants to move, without needing the breath to get there. This is the graduation moment: breath was the doorway for seven weeks, and by now, many students find they don't need it to open the door anymore.

This experience allows me to feel a part of me I don't often feel — the part that feels most natural. It makes me question what else I approach with resistance or hesitation, and what might be possible if I stopped restricting myself before even giving it a try.
