Every session is held over video, wherever you are, and paced to what your body can actually integrate. Here's what to expect, from your first call to ongoing practice. Whatever you arrive with is welcome here, met without judgment or expectation.
"A person who doesn't breathe deeply reduces the life of his body. If he doesn't move freely, he restricts the life of his body. If he doesn't feel fully, he narrows the life of his body."
— Dr. Alexander Lowen
A few minutes talking through what's present for you right now, and anything your body's been holding onto. Introductory sessions also review your intake form and introduce the technique.
Guided breathwork, paced to what your nervous system is ready to meet — sitting and finding a resource, then rounds of deep conscious breathing into activation, release, and integration. Move, vocalize, or emote as the energy needs to.
Time afterward to land, put words to what moved if there are words for it, and talk about what to carry forward.
These internal blocks tend to form across seven bands running head to toe, each holding a distinct yet connected charge. Breathwork allows that stored energy to surface and move through, belt by belt, until what's contracted has room to open.
Often holds unshed tears and the habit of scanning for danger instead of really seeing what's in front of you. We work with it through: soft gaze work, eye movements and circles, gentle touch around the temples and brow, and permission to let the eyes well up.
Often holds words swallowed and anger or crying held back since childhood — the habit of clenching rather than expressing. We work with it through: self-massage through the jaw and TMJ, vocalization and sound, and small movements that let the mouth finally unclench.
The bridge between thinking and feeling — often holding swallowed emotion and the effort of staying composed. We work with it through: gentle neck rolls and self-touch along the throat, paired with breath that lets the throat open on the exhale.
Often holds grief, longing, and the old habit of guarding the heart — showing up as shallow, restricted breathing. We work with it through: chest-opening movement, self-touch at the sternum, and deep breath that reaches into the upper chest.
Often holds fear and the breath-holding reflex — a wall many people unconsciously build between the upper and lower body. We work with it through: activation breathing that works directly on the diaphragm, self-massage along the ribs, and sound to release what's trapped there.
Often holds gut-level fear, disgust, and shame — held as a constant, unconscious bracing or sucking-in. We work with it through: belly breathing, gentle self-touch and pressure on the abdomen, and unwinding movement that lets the core soften.
Holds grounding, sexuality, and survival instinct — the body's readiness to run, freeze, or stand its ground. We work with it through: pelvic rocking, grounding movement through the legs and feet — drawing on some of the same neurogenic tremoring used in TRE (Trauma Release Exercises) — and breath that restores a felt sense of safety and support.

It's trauma-informed and targeted, weaving together breath, touch, movement, sound, meditation, and conscious emotional expression to balance safety, activation, and release.
Not necessarily. Breathwork and meditation aren't separate for me — they're one practice. Sometimes we'll move straight into mindful inquiry around whatever's already activated, and only bring in conscious breathing if and when it's useful for moving what we find. I stay flexible to what you're actually feeling or needing in the moment, rather than following a fixed script.
I'll guide you through light self-bodywork for activation and resourcing as needed — it can be empowering as you tune into your own capacity for self-regulation.
That's welcome here, not a sign something's gone wrong — often exactly what the body needed to do. I stay with you through it and help you find ground again afterward.
Also normal. Releasing isn't always dramatic — sometimes it's subtle, or it continues to unfold in the days after a session. There's no "right" way for this to go.
This work is trauma-informed by design — the pacing exists because of that, not despite it. If you have specific contraindications (certain cardiovascular or psychiatric conditions, pregnancy, epilepsy), let me know and we'll discuss alternatives.
Ginny, on meeting herself fullyWorking with Nico over the past year has been a deeply meaningful experience. I had been thinking about counseling for themes that had begun to come to the surface, but I knew that talking therapy wasn't what I was looking for. Then I met Nico.
From the very beginning, I felt supported and met with acceptance and no judgement. I felt a deep sense of trust so that I could gradually let go, allowing all parts of myself in each session to be witnessed.
It wasn't always easy — there were times I felt lost, not knowing where I was going or what would arise. But I was always met with Nico's presence, guidance and gentle strength. Often, my breath seemed to breathe me, guiding me into and through places I couldn't have reached through words.
Over time, through laughter, tears, rage, shaking, insights, release, I arrived at a place with a greater sense of wholeness, clarity and freedom. What stays with me most is the combination of Nico's kindness and gentle strength, alongside an ability to hold space without judgement or expectation. I always felt that whatever arose was welcome.
